About the event

The CIF is hosting a virtual awards ceremony on 30th April 2021 to announce the winner of the CIF Challenge ‘A Home for Everyone’. The competition was open to 2nd level senior cycle students in Secondary Schools, Youthreach and Community Training Centres across Ireland. The main objective of the challenge was to design a home for everyone. The students had to consider the following pillars within their projects including simplicity, sustainability, accessibility, affordability, locality, and technology. The winner will be announced at the virtual awards ceremony on 30th April. The virtual event will be approximately 1 hour. The ceremony will include interviews and speeches from CIF and guest speakers, videos from the finalists and ends with the announcement of the winner. This event is open to students, schools, sponsors, and CIF members.

The winning team will:

  • Join construction professionals for a VR masterclass to develop their winning entry into an industry standard 3D, virtual reality model
  • Present their design to the Minister for Housing, Technological University Dublin and the Construction Industry Federation
  • The school / centre will receive €5,000 worth of installed Wi-Fi equipment sponsored by Kedington Group
  • The school / Centre will received laser measuring equipment, a laser level and a masterclass in the equipment’s use, sponsored by Topcon Positioning Ireland
  • Eligible for the CIF Scholarship/Apprenticeship Placement initiative (T&Cs apply)
